DEADLIEST CATCH

Fans of Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch

One year ago today I was getting ready to hop into the car, hair perfectly done, make up carefully applied, camera in my hand and a nervous flutter in my stomach. One year ago today I was on my way to making one of my dreams come true.
One year ago today I was sitting at a table at a tiny fish market in Morgan Hill, drinking an Alaskan White Ale, rehearsing over and over what I would say and praying I wouldn't get it wrong.
One year ago today I watched as a man I'd only seen on my tv screen walked by my table, looking rough, tough, and, to me, as handsome and sexy as I'd ever seen him.

One year ago today at exactly 6:01 pm, I was wrapped in the warmth of that man's wonderful embrace. A hug that will always be one of the best memories I'll carry with me.
That man, who I'd admired from afar, told me I was pretty...and with those words put me high upon a cloud that I still haven't come down from.

And one year ago today, I would never have believed that in a matter of months he would be gone.

Thank you Phil for being kind, warm and humbly appreciative. Thank you for giving me memories to last the rest of my life. Thank you for being YOU.
I will miss you forever.

Thank You StefAngel ! If every person that was so fortunate to have one of these experiences passes it
along, and shares with the rest of us, We can All share , for the time we spend here as Earthbound souls:
Until we meet Phil...

not a personal meeting or a date...though that would have been nice...even though I am quite happily married :) :) No, this was an appearance he was doing on a pub crawl in Morgan Hill, CA promoting Alaskan Brew beer. I found out about it through his myspace and my hubby and I took a drive :) I'll never forget his words "it's not every day I get to hug a pretty girl". If you want the whole detailed account of the experience it's simple...we showed up early, had one beer while waiting for him to show up (which was just the liquid courage i needed! :) ) he showed up an hour late...we went up to the table, and I told him i had two simple requests, a picture with him, and a hug. He didn't even answer, just put down the cigarette he was smoking, stood up and I walked around the table and he wrapped his arms around me. it was bliss. pure bliss. then my hubby took a picture of Phil and I and I asked Phil if we could get one more with my husband in it and then we'd get out of his way and that's when he said it "that's ok, it's not every day i get to hug a pretty girl". I was a TOTAL goner at that point! we got our picture, told him thank you so much and then we left. i remember feeling weak in the knees. :) All three pictures from that day are on my profile. you can check it out if you want. :o)

I so can't wait for tonights episode, however, it will be emotional for me as well. My dad and I use to call each other on Tuesday nights to be sure we were tuned in to Deadlist Catch. I lost my dad in Sept 2009 and this season has been so difficult with losing my partner in enjoying the show and the loss of Phil, I hope Josh and Jake will continue to live the legacy and know that their POP was loved by many.
