I regret to inform everyone that Everett has passed away on 6/12/13 due to his struggle with cancer. I will be taking over the business.

BERING SEA SNOW CRAB SEASON OPENS OCTOBER 15 TOTAL ALLOWABLE CATCH ANNOUNCED

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) and National Marine Fisheries Service

(NMFS) have completed analysis of NMFS trawl survey data for the Bering Sea snow crab stock.

The 2011/2012 total allowable catch (TAC) is based on abundance and biomass estimates from the

NMFS stock assessment model.

The 2011/2012 model population estimate of total mature biomass for Bering Sea snow crab is

Red King fleet Quotas from AF&G

The Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADF&G) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)

have completed analysis of NMFS trawl survey data for Bristol Bay red king crab. The 2011/2012 total allowable catch (TAC) is based on abundance and biomass estimates from the ADF&G length based analysis model.

The Bristol Bay red king crab stock is above the mature female abundance threshold of 8.4 million crab and the effective spawning biomass (ESB) is over the threshold of 14.5…

St. Matthew blue king crab 2011/12 season opens while Pribilof red and blue king crab stays closed

The Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADF&G) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)

have completed analysis of 2011 NMFS trawl survey results for the Saint Matthew Island Section.

Blue king crab biomass was calculated using area-swept estimates.

The 2011 area swept estimate of mature male biomass is above the minimum required to open the

fishery. The 2011/2012 Saint Matthew Island Section blue king crab total allowable catch (TAC)

will be 2.359 million…

Red King Crab registered boats for 2011/12 season

Below is a PDF from the Alaska Fish and Game site for all registered boats as of 10/1/11 for Red King. Highlighted are current DC boats, although there are several boat name you might recognize from past years. The Cornelia Marie is not listed, so you will only see six boats highlighted. From what I have read, Red King season starts on October 15th every year since it was adopted in 1999.
