Regarding superstitions

WE ALL KNOW FISHERMEN AND SAILOR'S IN GENERAL ARE VERY SUPERSTITIOUS, I'M WONDERING IS ANYONE HERE ? I WILL NOT CHANGE THE CALENDER BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE NEW MONTH ( BAD LUCK), I WILL NOT PUT A HAT ON A BED, AND I WILL NOT OPEN AN UMBRELLA INSIDE. CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT SUPERSTITIONS YOU ALL HAVE, ESPECIALY DIFFERENT SUPERSTITIONS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. LET ME KNOW !!!

There are alot of superstitions out there, but me? don't believe in any of them. I walk under ladders, open my umbrella in the house and step on all kinds of cracks. lol I'm still here! lol

Superstitions, hmm, honestly I could tell  you which ones I follow because they come so naturally to me that I don't think about it! 

 

I'm with Mary Beth on the black cat thing though, I have 2 black cats! LOL

hmm.....I guess I have a few. I won't have a rocking chair rock with no one in it. If I spill salt, I throw it over my shoulder. Other things are more of an OCD thing haha. My best friend does have a weird superstition though. She won't listen to "Don't Fear The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. Everytime she does, someone we know dies. Every, single, stinking time. Sucks because we both like that song.

I have (2) that are extremely funny. I always check a door I locked twice to make sure I locked it. Sounds simple I know, but I live in the middle of town and there was a rash of bank robberies within a few miles of my house last summer. One day I was late for work and I locked my deadbolt or so I thought. I came home and pushed on the door while reaching for my keys and the door pushed open. I was freaked out. Now I pull on the door 3 or 4 times.

As well as a HUGE DC fan, Im a huge Washington Redskins fan. As long as they are winning I dont wash my game day jersey. A few years ago I went like six weeks without washing it. It totally wreaked of pretzels and stale beer. My GF called me me Stinky the Redskin. LOL. Oh well Phil was called dirt in his younger years to. LOL!!

I'M WITH YOU ON THE DOOR CHECKING, I DO THE SAME, AND I CHECK MY STOVE SO MANY TIMES A DAY, I'M SO FREAKED OUT ABOUT FIRE, SO I MAKE SURE IT'S OFF, OVER AND OVER, PROBABLY AN OCD THING .LOL

I don't sleep facing the west, nor would I want to be buried facing the west.  As much as I love watching sunsets, I don't want to be chasing one for eternity.

when walking with anyone and we come upon a pole or tree or whatever, i always make sure that we both walk on the same side of said pole,tree, or whatever. the reason? causes relationship to split.

I have one with all my new motox helmets, you always have to scratch or mark a new helmet before the first time you wear it otherwise you will end up crashing the first time you ride.
