I am a bit to much of a take charge person so I would have to be a captain or a co-captain wiht Tia so that we could rotate with the opies and Kings but those minor things could be worked out.
If I couldn't captain my own boat...boy I would wannna be on Cindys boat too....could I too please Cindy, please. Could think of only maybe one other captain I would wanna work for other than you.
Permalink Reply by Kim A. on March 6, 2011 at 10:53pm Yeah, I'd want to be on Cindy's boat too. What an awesome crew and boat that would be. I've been thinking about what I'd name a boat of my own though and the best I can think of is going with either F/V Little Miss and F/V Evangeline or hey, I could do a combination and have it be either F/V Little Evangeline or go long with F/V Little Miss Evangeline. Both of those are names of songs that have a pretty personal meaning for me.
As far as being the captain or have someone do it, I'd probably have someone else do it for me, but it could be cool being captain. Maybe I'd share the job with another person, like the Hillstrands do.
Fun question. :)
my boat would be fv Balder. even if it isnt the luckiest of names ( one of the only gods i know of that actually died.)
but he was the most beautifull and most loved god of the vikings. so that is good.
captain? if I did it myself the boat would most definitly be unlucky ( dont know a thing about driving a boat) so i would hire a good captain and let myself me driven around playing boatmom ( have pity with the rest of the crew lol).
Permalink Reply by Donald Kohler on March 9, 2011 at 11:06am Heck yes I would run my own boat, other than the weight and over run ratio these guys have bow thrusters, when you heir Sig talking about jogging the boat he is using the bower thruster not the wheel/rudder, the round black knob in front of him, push it to the right and the boat goes right and versa/visa, when it was windy I use to have a hell of a time pulling up to the fuel dock in my parents 43foot glass boat and it had twin Perkins diesels, you would have to back in and spin the wheel hard at the last minute and through one in forward with one in reverse, be sides my kid brother has his 250ton license and use to skipper for the Argosy tour boats here in seattle. I just haven’t been any further north then the Queen Charlotte Islands in BC Canada, Dutch Harbor is a another 1500miles beyond that and the outside run gets a little dicey in a smaller boat and with no radar or gps that’s all Farley new shit to me.
Permalink Reply by Mireille on March 13, 2011 at 9:39am O, looks like we got a skipper on board here! And his kid brother has a whoopin' 250 ton license... So we have two brothers..... so it's like the Hillstrands, or the Hansens, or the Colburns or the Harris'es... or would it!?
Pfff. i really gotta find me a sister... (Mom..dad,....!!) *lol*
Permalink Reply by Laura2 on March 12, 2011 at 8:43am I'd hire Jake Anderson to run my boat, because he seems like a good guy and he really wants to run a boat.
I'd call it "The Lost Brac-er." Because my family is in shipping, originally from Cayman Brac, an island in the Caribbean. So, if we had a boat in the Bering Sea, we Brac-ers would be really, really lost!
