Catcher-Vessel Observer Coverage in the 2011-2012 Bristol Bay Red King Crab and Bering Sea Snow Crab Fisheries
The press release below lists catcher vessels, selected from preseason vessel registrations, for observer coverage in the Bristol Bay red king crab and Bering Sea snow crab fisheries. Each selected catcher vessel will be required to carry a crab observer during 100% of the time the vessel is conducting fishing activities in a designated fishery. In addition to vessels selected for observer coverage, a list of alternate vessels is provided in the order of selection to carry an observer if a selected vessel does not participate. Late registrants may be required to carry an observer.

i see from list of vessels for snow crab the time bandit is to have a mandated observer on board kodiak is on list for alternate boats no other dc boats on listing

Thanks for posting this. It will remain a curiosity of mine to know how observers fair on DC boats. If being stuck on a small bobbing island with crude lude and disgusting guys isn't enough, lets add a camera crew and see how you stick to your scientific standards and work ethic.
